BABA YAGA
The projects aim is to reimagine the Russian tale "Vasilisa the Beautiful" from the Baba Yaga Saga. The main illustration is supported with an illuminated letter and spot illustration.
In this particular scene Vasilisa is heading towards Baba Yaga's Hut and encounters Baba Yaga's servants who bring the night, morning and day. The illuminated letter represents V from Vasilisa while the spot illustration is Vasilisa's magical doll given to her by her mother.
The second set of Baba Yaga illustrations are set where Vasilisa finally meets Baba Yaga. The Illuminated illustation is an A formed of Baba Yaga's cat with a skull lamp illuminating the hut and also the one that brings Vasilisa brings back home. The Spot illustration is a close up illustration of the 'happy ending' Vasilisa claiming the light she was pursuing.
